BGAN satellite terminals are portable, compact and lightweight – about the size of a small laptop computer – and can be connected quickly and easily to multiple laptops via wired or wireless connections, including Bluetooth or WiFi, depending on the terminal. Terminals are designed to withstand challenging environments and extremes of temperature. |
With BGAN, data applications can be accessed at speeds up to half a megabit, while simultaneously making a phone call. Guaranteed data rates on demand, with a choice of data rates, are available. BGAN supports the latest IP services, as well as traditional circuit-switched voice and data, as well as all major VPN products and IP encryption standards.
Services include:
- Standard IP - Access email, the internet, corporate networks and send large file attachments over a secure connection at speeds up to 492kbps.
- Phone - Make phone calls at the same time as accessing data applications via a standard desktop phone, wherever you are on the planet.
- Streaming IP - Select guaranteed data rates on demand to suit your application. Choose BGAN X-Stream for speeds in excess of 384kbps for live video broadcasting. Also supports ISDN at 64kbps
- Text - Send and receive text messages via a laptop PC to or from any mobile phone.
Terminal Equipment - BGAN is accessible via small, lightweight satellite terminals, providing performance options to suit different operational needs. Some terminal models include a remote antenna capability/detachable modem unit for indoor use.
Standard terminals are highly portable and can be used both indoors and outdoors. Vehicular systems include an interior (in-vehicle) modem unit and a discreet tracking antenna, which is mounted on the vehicle roof.
