AOS offers a variety of VSAT satellite equipment to meet wide range of mission profiles, requirements, and applications - from quick-deploy flyaway kit and mobile COTM (communications on-the-move) packages to transportable and fixed earth station satellite terminals. Solutions can be provisioned for C, Ku and X Band, or multiband operation.
AOS provisions dedicated point-to-point SCPC and SCPC DAMA networks, as well as shared bandwidth-on-demand networks, in both mesh and star configurations. AOS provides space segment and/or Teleport access services on both full-period lease basis and short-term usage for emergency and disaster-relief communications.
Scalable and flexible to meet numerous mission and bandwidth requirements, AOS fixed satellite services (FSS) provide global coverage using multi-vendor C-band and Ku-band satellite capacity and teleport facilities.
AOS iDirect System (iDS) Overview

AOS' iDirect network is a satellite-based TCP/IP network with a star topology, in which a Time Division Multiplexed (TDM) broadcast downstream channel from a central hub location is shared by a number of remote nodes. The iDirect hub equipment consists of an iDirect Hub Chassis with Universal Line Cards, A Protocol Processor (PP), a Network Management System (NMS) and the appropriate RF equipment. Each remote node consists of an iDirect broadband router and the appropriate external VSAT equipment. The remotes transmit to the hub on one or more shared upstream carriers using Deterministic-TDMA (D-TDMA), based on the dynamic timeplan slot assignment generated at the Protocol Processor. |
The AOS Hub features iDirect relase 7.02. A mesh overlay can be added to the basic star network topology, allowing traffic to pass directly between remote sites without traversing the hub. This allows real-time traffic to reach its destination in a single satellite hop, significantly reducing delay. iDS software has the features and controls that allow the system to be configured to provide QoS and other traffic engineered solutions to remote users. " AOS has the ability to interface with the VSAT equipment thru direct modem access and troubleshoot the system. To date, AOS remote sites have performed with a 99.54 percent up-rate.
AOS commissions, activates, and deactivates remote terminals anywhere in the world, and provides technical support and customer service on a 24/7 basis.
